When replacing a fuel pump, it is always a good idea to replace the inline fuel filter if your vehicle is equipped with one. A plugged fuel filter can lead to low performance or a no start condition resulting in an unneeded fuel pump replacement. Also, a plugged fuel filter will make a fuel pump work harder which can shorten the life of the pump.
