Because several OE Chrysler fuel pump modules feature a paper strainer/filter element,  a design change to this element was made that looks significantly different from the original fuel pump. A superior pump features a dual-zone strainer/filtration design to provide better trapping of fuel system contaminants. The difference in appearance is related to the enhanced dual-zone filtration, improving performance while retaining the precise fit required in today’s applications.
