Driveability Problems: Bad Car or Bad Gas?

If your vehicle is misfiring, sputtering or stalling repeatedly, then before you spend hours trying to find something broken, try different fuel: Drain the tank and add fresh, high quality gas. Sometimes, gasoline can become contaminated with dirt or water during distribution or storage, or even in your own gas tank if it's made of steel (think corrosion). Other times, the gas may have too much alcohol. Of course, if you try to drain the tank and find nothing...then you have a problem known as "out of gas."
